The single-chamber BBD cushions are designed similarly to the first Ken McRight BBD cushions offered as early as 1951. Our single-chamber models are still the cushions of choice used by thousands of individuals requiring a high degree of pressure relief.
The smaller models have six ventilation holes while the Model MD features nine ventilation holes.

These popular BBD cushions feature a large ventilation slot in the center. Some individuals who use these models report using the slot for catheter routing.
These cushions (Style W) provide pressure relief similar to our other single-chamber models (Style M).
Style W models, like Style M models, feature an easy-to-use tube mounted valve design for easy inflation.

The dual-chamber BBD cushions are designed to be used by individuals requiring more stability than the single-chamber design. The extra stability is needed by persons who drive while sitting on a wheelchair cushion and persons with active pursuits.
Our dual-chamber cushions provide slightly less pressure reduction than our single-chamber designs. Dual-chamber cushions are designed to help with positioning – one chamber can be inflated more than the other when needed to help tilt the pelvis.

These BBD models are specialty cushions designed for specialized needs – such as individuals using smaller-framed wheelchairs, wheelchair athletes, persons using three-wheelers or scooters and other applications.
The smaller rectangular cushions fit popular children-sized chairs and smaller sports chairs.
The round cushions are often used on scooters or for special padding.

Our cushion covers help prevent skin shear and act in combination with our cushions to not only protect the cushion but also to contain and support the expansion of the cushion when an individual sits on it. The cushion/cover combination is an integral part of BBD pressure reduction system.
Rand-Scot is now proud to announce that we have modified the old "pillow-case" type cushion covers and replaced them with the Deluxe Zippered Covers. These new covers feature tri-stretch polyester tops coupled to reinforced nylon bottoms that help support and shape your cushion. Side ventilation is provided on most models, as are hook-and-loop strips on the lower sides to affix the cushion to the wheelchair seat. Cushion covers open conveniently with a zipper for access to the inner cushion. Small "windows" accommodate air valve access, so that the cushion cover need not be opened for inflation. Lastly, a handy and convenient pocket is built-in to the cover. It's great for carrying your wallet or a small camera, cell phone, PDA, etc.
In addition to our deluxe zippered cover, we offer the popular "fleece" cover for persons who desire the moisture absorption and warmth that this pile fabric offers.
